| - Dr. Arteaga is one of the two best Vets we've seen in town. We started going to his practice in 2002 when we first moved here from Hawaii. We moved far literally at the end of west side since and had to try other vets closer to us. We've met a few other Vets from 6 different practices, but only found one that we love as much as Dr. Arteaga, Dr. Wallace of VCA. VCA is terrible though. We've been to three locations and have always felt that their system makes their doctors seem money driven (except for Dr. Wallace). Both Dr. Arteaga and Dr. Wallace are great, compassionate and knowledgeable doctors. Both are straight to the point. If they already know whats wrong with your furry family member, then they will tell you upfront and not take you on the loop up charges etc., no need for trial and error labs, tests or experimentations. We've seen both doctors for dogs, cats and kittens, all same great outcome. We had an emergency not too long ago with our Faithie the mini poodle girl. Dr. Wallace moved somewhere and we didnt want to waste time looking for him and risk trying a new practice so we immediately drove all the way to Dr. Arteaga. After years of not seeing him, I must say he is still the same great doctor we were used to. Sahara Animal Hospital is located in the central valley so its quite old. The staff customer service here is just ok, but dont let those things stop you from driving to this practice and giving Dr. Arteaga a try. I highly recommend Dr. A and have already told many friends about him.
We're very thankful that Dr. A is staying true to himself all these years. As this valley grows larger, maybe someday soon Dr. A will add new doctors to help him out. I hope this place stays as honest as it is right now.
I wanted to be a Vet myself and had a few chit chats with Dr. A about it then back then. He doesn't remember it but want him to know I really did/still do look up to him.
Thank you Dr. A!
