| - Another upscale vegas buffet
There are so many options in vegas that it's always hard to figure out what you want to eat. Even if you can't decide on a cuisine and want to eat a buffet, even that choice is hard to make. There are buffets at every major hotel/casino, and they all tout themselves as the best. Well, after much deliberation, we finally settled on wicked spoon (the 15% discount and line cutting for platinum members really helped the decision making).
As a platinum member, we were able to go to the front of the line, and received our 15% discount. We saved at least $7 per person due to the holiday pricing as well as at least 30 min to an hour of line waiting. The staff at the front where you pay was friendly and efficient, major props especially during a busy season.
Once in the buffet, it was a madhouse (well, more like long lines) for certain items (the meat station being the main one). Most of the dishes are plated in small plates to make it easy for you to grab portions and go. I don't remember everything I ate, but I would say that most of the dishes were of decent quality (better than the average buffet, but not close to fine restaurant dining). The prime rib was decent, but still a little chewy. The beef rib was not that tender. Some dishes were underflavored or oversalted, but nothing I would say that really caused me concern. Dessert was definitely good though, I remember trying to eat a bit of everything.
