| - I am very stressed out and very concerned for my cat. I took him in only because they offered a free initial exam. He's been having breathing issues and I wanted them to check it out. Well, they noticed he has a couple loose teeth and dirty ears. Said his breathing was normal. (I adopted him a few months ago).
She swabbed his ears. I thought she would check for ear mites, but I guess that costs more, even though my other vet for my other cat tested him for ear mites with his instrument, for free! It didn't cost more!! So that confused me when she wouldn't test him for ear mites.
He has really bad breath and gingivitis, but she wanted to do X-rays instead to make sure nothing was wrong with anything else. But she said his breathing sounded normal, when to me, I could tell there was something wrong.
Well, $400 later, the xray comes out normal. His breathing worsens, and she wants me to pay $88 for medicine to TRY that out.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I am going back to my old vet that I've brought my other cat to for 7 years. I thought I would save money for the initial exam... I was wrong.
They don't seem to care too much. Well, their personalities and words sound like they care, but when it comes down to the bill and priorities... That's another story. I hope my cat is okay. I am so stressed out and very worried. I feel like I could've put that $400 towards extractions for his teeth. Now I have to wait until I can afford to take care of him.. Which I thought I was doing
