| - While Queen video's other locations may be considered all part of the same beast, I would argue that the Bloor location is a creature all of its own. With a very steady business (so popular, in fact, some QV fans take credit for putting the Blockbuster across the street out of business) and a staff of people who know their stuff, you're always likely to find something you want here. Any given night of the week you will find this independent video store full of browsers wandering through the thousands of titles, trying to slip past each other in the crowded shelves to check if one title or another is in. If you want something obscure, ask and ye shall receive. And in the odd chance they don't have it at the Bloor location, they will obtain a copy from one of the other stores. And if in the very rare instance they don't have it at all, they will put a copy on order and let you know when it came in.
I wouldn't recommend walking in blindly and asking the staff what they recommend seeing, despite their reputation as true cinema buffs. The best thing to do is wait until you see something that you absolutely love, and then ask the staff there what they would recommend if you were looking for something in that style/vein/etc. They do indeed know what they are talking about and if it isn't too busy are more than happy to chat film with you until you find something that suits your fancy. The prices are reasonable and the length of rentals is more than fair, especially for DVD box sets or non-new releases. Just try to return it on time or you'll get one of those gentle reminder phone calls that you hijacked their only DVD copy of Pootie Tang. :)
