  • You must think I'm on happy pills for giving Walmart 3 stars. Actually, now that I think about it, I was probably on something yesterday. I had to be. I don't ever go to Walmart. But I went there yesterday. To buy a bike. Yep. That's right. I did. But seriously. And this is for all of the snobs out there that are reading this and thinking "Like, omigod! I CANNOT believe she bought a bike at Walmart!" : Believe me. I know ALL about your super sweet custom made frames that cost at least $1,000. I needed a new bike and I'm not in any kind of financial shape to be spending more than $300 on a bike right now. Try being a single parent and do what I do on your own, without any financial help from anyone else -- then you can judge me for shopping at Walmart. I'm not a professional cyclist. I just needed something that was newer, comfortable, and that I could ride around town when I feel like it. And now that I'm done ranting, I'll finish my review. This store basically sucks. I waited for an HOUR for someone to help me. I even rode the friggin' bike around the entire store, whistling, hoping that someone would stop me and yell at me for riding it. No such luck. After that hour, I marched to the front of the store (very angrily) and found a manager. He was talking on the phone. Probably to his wife. I stood there tapping my foot until he got off. Then looked at him, exasperated, and told him that he needed to help me. NOW. He was very sweet, very apologetic, very helpful, and I'm pretty sure he was very afraid of me. He took me right over to the bike I wanted and offered to give me $50 off for my trouble and because the kickstand was loose (and shockingly, nobody was around to fix it). No biggie. Easily fixable. Sold. And now I have a new, comfortable bike that I can actually ride. I didn't buy their cheapest model either. I bought one of their nicer hybrid bikes. It even has Shimano something or other on it. (LOLZ) I still hate Walmart though.
