  • Lackluster first impressions all around. The place is really clean and looks very high end, they also offer a lot of services you wouldn't usually have at a normal dermatologist. However I was surprised by the lack of professionalism and organization from the front desk. I came in several days earlier to fill out the initial paperwork and there was one really hard working girl who was overworked because her fellow front-deskers decided to take an extended birthday lunch. When they can back and I went to turn in my forms they were doing nail art. When I returned the day of the appointment they asked if I had filled out the initial paperwork, assuming they had lost it I asked to see my forms so I could fill out some medication I was taking. Either they lost my information or she didn't want to bother with finding my papers because she just said "it's ok just tell the doctor when you're in there". It instilled little confidence that my information and medical history was every even reviewed by the doctor ahead of time. The doc, Karin, spent all of maybe 10 seconds looking at my skin and made an assessment. I just felt so rushed. She did say she can't treat everything at once and you just gotta try something and see what works but I don't feel she understood how upsetting it is to have a chronic condition that interferes with your life. That I don't want to just see what works, I also understand that it takes time for your skin to change but her lack of empathy was just frustrating I wanted to cry when she left the room. I don't think my biggest concerns were really heard. If I could only work on one thing at a time then I wish she would have asked that or if I could have stressed the importance and the effect of these things. Thankfully the saving grace was her assistant who I was able to talk with a little more after about the services they offered that could help and her experiences. The whole first appt was under 10min. They recommend mostly over the counter remedies and one of the actual prescriptions that was $70 even generic and with insurance, which I couldn't even afford. They don't tell you this when they send off the prescription so I can't even get/use it right now. Underwhelmed and disappointed because I really was hopeful and anxious to get my skin taken care of the right way. We'll see if they can do anything else in 6 weeks...
