  • Wow! The name says "a Steak & Egg Place" and it's legit. This is how you do steak and eggs, and how you create a place to enjoy eating. Let's start with the service: the hostess greeted my wife and I as we walked in and had us seated immediately, offering us a choice of seats: booth, table, outdoor. Our waitress (Chelsea) was right there with us but never in the way or overbearing. Drinks were ordered and delivered quickly and we were given time to look over the menu--the pretty large menu! All the usual breakfast options were there, along with a real variety of steak options. I had the Steakhouse Omelet and was pleased when Chelsea asked me how I wanted my steak cooked. I've had steak and eggs in a number of places over the years, but it's oddly uncommon that you get a say in how the meat is prepared. I ordered medium and it came out perfect. (The picture I posted didn't really do it justice). The omelet was fluffy and full of generous amounts of everything the menu said would be in there. My wife had the "Two-Fisted Bagel& Egg Sandwich" and it was put together and presented just as well as my order. Be warned though, you might want to eat this breakfast sandwich with a fork and knife. You can pick it up with two fists, but there might be spillage. A few of the little things that make a nice place even better: the cream for your coffee is fresh and comes out in a creamer rather than the more common bowl of plastic half & half containers just sitting on the table. Water and other beverages are served in glasses, made of glass. Each table also has a tray with salt and pepper, and a solid assortment of the more popular condiments and sauces that go well with steaks and eggs. The restaurant interior is cool too. Umbrellas for light fixtures, a sort of at-home feel to the tables and chairs, and a waitstaff that serves you in their pajamas. I originally thought it might be little awkward, but it actually works to set a very comfortable environment. Keep in mind, it's been our experience that it's hard to get in without a long wait during peak breakfast/brunch hours on the weekends. That's because it's that good. But if you're able, head over on a weekday and treat yourself without the wait. Finally, ample outdoor seating and a military discount (present your ID when you pay) locks in my high score for this fine addition to the local breakfast scene on the westside. Go and enjoy. Your mouth will be happy!
