I hate to give anyone one star, but this one was borderline. I went in and asked for a caramel color ombre/balayage, and came out much much lighter than I wanted. I was not so much worried about the color as much since I have been blonde-ish before, but am put off because the FIRST thing I told the stylist was that I did not want to be that light again because I didn't love the color with my complexion unless I was very tan (which I am not this year). We talked for a bit before even starting about that and about the fact that I DID NOT want my hair to look like I had gotten highlights and they had grown out. Well, guess what I came out with... grown out highlights. One of those "highlights" is right in front of my face so I can see it every single day. Said stylist has supposedly been doing balayage style for 4 years now.
The part that I was most disappointed about was that in the middle of my appointment my stylist informed me that she was running over to Harris Teeter for a second. Assuming that she hadn't had lunch, I felt bad and of course agreed. To my surprise, she came back 30 minutes later (dye/bleach still in my hair) parading a bottle of wine through the salon telling everyone that she was going home after this and drinking the entire thing.
I did call back a few weeks later after giving my hair some time to settle, thinking it would get better and was told that they would fix it but it would cost more money. Why in the world would I agree to pay MORE money for some one to fix the job that they screwed up and making $200+ on the mess already? At no point before the or after the appointment was I informed of this rule.
Anyway, needless to say I will not be returning to Element 5 Salon.
