About 7 years ago (wow- I can't believe it's been so long!) I adopted my little guy who had been rescued from a domestic violence situation. He's come a LONG way since then, but; one thing he really holds onto is his distrust of white males especially when they have on a baseball cap and/or have a beard. In the past I've had endless people think this is hilarious; it is kind of funny because I suppose it frankly isn't the expected bias. I was glad to see that a note had clearly been made on his chart about this issue AND that the vet (I was so worried I forgot his name) took it seriously.
He was very good with my dog and took time to ease into an exam without making it seem terribly clinical. This really helped keep my dog calmer than usual- very important since we were checking on a heart murmur. I also appreciated the vet wanting to do bloodwork to eliminate a couple of issues that might have been causing the heart murmur so that it could best be treated.
Also, I must say that my schedule changed and I had to reset the appointment twice- I felt terrible about doing that! The folks were really understanding and easy to work with which I totally appreciate! Additionally they've got hours that are pretty good for people who can't get off work during the middle of the day or cut out early to take their pet to the vet. I think that adds a nice touch to their practice.
