I have dealt with competent credit unions since their inception in the 80's. When we moved here we thought we would get the same great service: that is not available from this credit union. All but one branch does not have tellers: you are forced to do all your transactions with an ATM. If that ATM system is down, you are forced to go clear across town to do your business, or you are SOL. We save our coinage, and roll it to deposit into our savings account. Our branch is at Blue Diamond and Decatur: they would not take my coinage and one of the employees told me they were "phasing out coins"! How can you "phase out" our national currency? I had to take my coinage 10.9 miles across town to another branch on Charleston & Rainbow at which time I was told they would only take 3 rolls of each denomination! I had at least 10 rolls of each denomination and had to argue with them to get them to take my money! I was told by the manager that I should take my coinage to a commercial coin counter (that will take 10% of my hard-earned money as fees), then bring them the ticket issued by the machine to have what was left credited to my account! They want me to pay another company to take my coins??? On top of that, they charge me a monthly fee if I do not use my debit card at least 15 times or maintain a $2K balance! If I have to deal with an ATM, drive all over town when the ATM is down, and pay another entity and lose money to put my coins in my savings, THEN WHAT AM I PAYING THIS INSTITUTION TO DO? I have written to the President of One Nevada Credit Union and did not receive a decent or customer service oriented response. You get no customer service from this Credit Union. Financial institutions that tell you how you can handle your own money need a wake-up call. In time of crisis, you will not be able to get to your money!
