We tried this location today after having tried he ones in the mall in a previous visit. Sadly, it was not a great experience. While the shop is charming and the cupcakes are very inviting in their appearance, the taste does not provide adequate follow through.
My sister, daughter and I chose a white cake slice that was to be like a wedding cake, an almond buttercream cupcake and a red velvet. The cupcakes came served on a dessert plate which was really a nice touch. The cake slice was packaged to go in a box complete with a fork. I have posted pics of each.
I'll start with the cupcakes. The Almond Buttercream was waxy and had an aftertaste. The white cake it was decorating was very dry and dense. Not very appealing at all. My sister did not care for it either.
My daughter said her red velvet was, ok, but we all agreed it was a very dense cupcake as well and very good of flavor. The best part was the cream cheese icing. Now that I would like but on a better cake.
The cake slice was a let down from the moment we opened the box. The way it was packaged had smashed the icing so it wasn't pretty or inviting. The taste was lousy. Hard as a rock and the icing was nothing like a wedding cake icing. Nor was the cake. All in all it just was not what we had hoped for. Very bummed.
