| - Would give it a zero if I could. I'll never go back.
Bought a Civic there in 2005, had only one bad service experience in eight years, when a new service advisor did all kinds of unauthorized work not recommended by the car's computer. I started to keep a close eye on things; even Hondas wear out and I had not liked the general drift of the service department since their long-time service department head had been reassigned to another Baierl dealership. When I questioned the need for a new rear center brake light, because the old one worked just fine, the new service manager cut me off. Still, I returned there a couple more times for simple recommended maintenance.
BUT when I went for a B1 service check in February 2014, the service advisor said there was a steering rack leak that I'd have to get fixed because the rack was worn out. I'd also mentioned a very hard clunk whose reason had eluded their mechanics earlier. The service advisor said I needed a new steering rack, an axle, and new rotors before inspection. Although the car has a lot of miles, because of my declining confidence in Baierl's recommendations I went to another Honda dealer who fixed the leak with an inexpensive o-ring, no new steering rack needed. Later, the other dealer also found the reason for the clunk (not an axle) and fixed that too. I saved thousands and will not return to Baierl again.
