| - I want to be clear - this review is specifically for the location in the Toronto Convention Center. I did not visit any other locations, so cannot speak for them.
While attending a conference in Toronto, I needed coffee, as one often does. The Second Cup is located conveniently within the convention center, so I walked in. Along with approximately 100 other attendees. The line was incredibly long, winding back and forth through the store, and did not move quickly. Nearly 45 minutes after joining the line, I reached the counter and ordered my coffee, which, as brewed coffee is the fastest thing to serve, was handed to me very quickly. Unfortunately, it was only when my credit card was declined 4 times they informed me they do not take Discover. I did not have an alternate payment source (bad travel planning, I realize), and very nearly had to walk away, empty-handed, without my coffee (for which I had waited 45 minutes). Thankfully, a kind-hearted stranger offered to pay for my coffee, which saved me, both from embarrassment, and from falling asleep at the next meeting.
The coffee itself was okay - not delicious, not excellent, just okay. Bottom line, if attending a conference at the Convention Center, and hoping for tasty coffee served at a reasonable speed, I would recommend walking the extra block to Starbucks.
