  • I'm not the one to be stingy when it comes to food but L'Express was rather pricey for what it was. Given the high ratings, I was excited to try this restaurant but was disappointed that it was another one of those overrated restos. Had the octopus and lentil salad, which was rather flavorless. Shared a fish soup with my boyfriend, which tasted pretty good. Wish they had French onion soup on the menu though, as I was craving that before I came in. For my main, I had the poached salmon, which was served atop some mashed potatoes with a cream sauce surrounding it. Again, the dish was rather flavorless and felt very heavy. While they did have a lemon slice for me to squeeze lemon juice over it, I do wish they added something a little bit acidic (say pickled veggies) to cut the overall creaminess of the dish. Service was overall friendly and no complaints there. Unfortunately, food quality was just not up to par.
