| - The hunt for the best tasting Butter Chicken has ended, and we have found a place that taste superrrrr close to the one my BF had in Africa.
I myself have never had a whole lot of Indian Food and have only been to one other Indian restaurant many years ago. Being that this is the second Indian restaurant I've eaten at, this by far is my favorite!
The first time my BF and I had decided to try Delhi Indian Restuarant, we had decided to go for lunch. They offer a buffet style with lots of different dishes to from such as Tikka Misala, Tandoori Chicken, Curries, vegetarian dishes, appetizers, endless Naan bread and of course Butter Chicken. The buffet is great! Especially if you're not familiar with Indian Food than you should definitely try the buffet, so you're able to try multiple dishes and figure out what you like and it was inexpensive (I believe it was like $10 or so)
....LOVE THE BUFFET BUT.....
The BF and I came the second time around thinking it was buffet style not knowing they only served it during lunch. Not mad at all, the BF only wanted Butter Chicken and this also gave me the chance to try something new.
Before we ordered, they give you what is called a Papadum. Thin, crisp bread served with 2 Chutneys. Not sure of the names, but the one to the left had a plum flavor, almost like sweet and sour or li hing mui flavor. Maybe even a lighter than the two. The right has a cilantro taste and it is spicy, but a tolerable spice to it. Both very delicious!
My BF ordered of course the Butter Chicken Basmati Rice. You choose your heat 1 thru 10, he loves HOT food! 7, he chooses 7 so that I'm able to eat a little bit of it too. Eeks! I can feel my insides burning already, haha.
I ordered the Lental Soup and the Reshmi Kebab. Lental Soup was creamy, flavorful and delicious. I would order it again! The kebab comes out hot and sizzling on a plate, literally. The meat is not on a stick either, it's shaped and texture is like a breakfast sausage link but on a larger scale, sitting on a bed of onions and green bell peppers. Topped with cilantro and wedges of lemon. Do, take those lemons and squeeze it allllll over the kebab, it takes it to a whole new level. OMG, okay Reshmi Kebob I see you!! Sooooo good! The meat is ground up chicken in a sausage form, it's packed full of flavors! Reminds me of a chicken and lemon dish from back home. Although I'm not familiar with all the spices used, I'm loving every bite of it!
We loved everything about our meal.
If you want to try Indian Food give them a try.
