| - Shockingly, coming to Dolce Salon & Spa was my first time ever being at a professional salon. Stuff like this isn't usually my "thing", so I had high hopes for my first visit. Scheduling the appointment on the phone wasn't a problem at all, in fact the girl was really sweet and helpful in letting me know what the difference was between creative color, highlights, etc. She set up the time, day, and who I was going to be consulting with. Whee! I'm all excited, gonna go do something girly!
Day before my appointment I get a confirmation call - except now the time and stylist has changed. Okay, not that big of a deal even though I would have preferred to have the original time I was scheduled but I suppose that's why they do confirmation calls to avoid huge mix-ups. So the next day I get there a little early and did not have to wait that long which was nice...except now the stylist has changed for a 3rd time. Again. Not that big of a deal since I don't know any of the stylists anyway, but I'm not understanding why even "designate" me a stylist in the first place if they're just going to change the person on you every single time. On top of that, my stylist had me down for the wrong services and so I had to explain everything to her again.
If you come here, come thirsty - because they will ask you like 10 times if you want something to drink... I didn't get anything, but their little drink station looked nice. Again, this didn't really bother me too much (it was just a little annoying) but I'm sure they are told to keep offering their clients drinks.
So without going on too much longer - I found out that I'm really not into getting pampered. Personally I feel like it takes too long, it's kind of boring, and it's just too much work. I probably won't ever do it again, unless I am forced. And though my experience was a little weird, I will say that all of the girls from phone, front desk, to stylist were all very nice. Oh...wait, except the chick that was blow drying my hair - she didn't seem like she was having a good day but whatever.
If you're into getting your hair done for 4-5 hours, this might be an okay place to go. I wasn't as impressed with my new hair color, but my hair did come out nice and shiny!
