| - So my initial review below was from the very first treatment. I finished the course of treatments and have had time since. At my last few appointments I expressed concern that hair was still gowing back, slightly slower but otherwise the same. One woman said well the numbing can make it not work as well. After the first couple treatments I had stopped using the numbing cream on my underarm only using it for the brazillian and BOTH areas were the same! At the end this same slower regrowth was what I was left with and basically a well that's too bad, pay to have more and maybe it will work then or leave attitude from the people. Now, so much time later, it's like I never did it at all. Please note, I apparently am the 'ideal' type for this kind of hair removal as I am pale with dark hair. A VERY expensive waste of time and money. Go somewhere else!
Original Review.....
Disclaimer... first laser hair removal treatment.
I've never been to another place but I have heard several horror stories from people I know about how painful it can be. Some were not so bad but everyone liked the results and most said it was worth it so I decided to give it a try and decided this was the place.
The place was clean, the staff friendly and from my understanding they had the latest technology which I could only hope to mean the least painful. Of course they assured me it wasn't very but I had heard from people who went to different places in both Canada and the US that it hurt a lot, more than waxing! So I was nervous.
After buying the package I wanted... Brazilian and underarms. I booked an appointment. When they confirmed it and I again voiced my nerves they were very friendly and happily moved the date for another time since I was at that time of the month and was warned it might hurt more.
Finally I went in for my appointment. I went early so I could get the numbing cream and both the receptionist and the RN were very welcoming, I was put right into a room and she went over everything about the process, making sure I was comfortable and no more questions or concerns.
Once the cream had time to be effective she began with my underarms and it stung a bit, not as bad as I expected from horror stories I had heard (my sister who went to a place in Canada, has a much higher pain threshhold and is in no way a crier said it was like hot knives stabbing her repeatedly and she cried a little) anyways, it was a bit painful but bearable, though I was a tad worried for when it went to my Brazilian. I told the concerned RN I was ok, it was bearable but she smiled kindly and said we'd try cold packs to make it better because she didn't want me to be in pain. We iced my other underarm and my lady parts. The second underarm was only the tiniest bit of discomfort and I was relieved. There were parts of my Brazilian that stung but nothing near what I had worried about.
I was really impressed with how comfortable they tried to make me during the process, which I am very grateful to say, was also very fast.
