I have been going to this shop for about 2 years. I usually have a decent to a really great experience here with the exception of Bryce, the manager. Anytime he interacts with me, he comes off really condescending and outright rude. One example was when I used a promotion that was texted to me. I booked the appointment online as it stated you needed to in order to receive the promotion. When I get t the counter he tries to charge me full price. I said "I actually received a promotion via text" which I actually called about earlier that day and spoke to him about. He says condescendingly something along the lines of "no you need to book through the website so it'll be full price today." I had to explain to him for a couple of minutes that I did in fact book through the site. Not sure why he was pressed on charging me full priced if the system shows how you book it. Finally he AGREED to the promotional offer. My next experience was worst. I bought a groupon for just a primp and blow last weekend. I called to place the appt after purchasing. I requested someone that's experience with thick curly hair and Bryce recommended Allison. I made my appt at 11:30AM. My appt was for 5:15PM that day. I get there and Allison greets me. She was really sweet. I mentioned that I was in for my birthday and wanted to treat myself. She understood I was in for a primp and blow as I mentioned it when she asked what we're doing with my hair. She sits me down and starts this conditioning treatment. Now this is the turning point of my entire day. Bryce walks to us as I'm in the middle of my treatment and states in such an arrogant and brazen tone "So I was just informed by corporate that since you have ethnic hair we are going to charge you an extra $20." He contnues on "... You know since the service is usually $60 and you only paid $28 for your groupon." I felt so discriminated not only ethnically but also because of the fact I used a groupon rater than paid full price. Truth be told I have only used 3 promotions in the two years I have been coming here which is surely besides the point. So then I respond that "the service is usually $40 not $60" he says "the primp and press is always $60" and responded "I'm not even getting a primp and press I'm getting a primp and blow" He says then "okay that's just a blow then and you won't be charged an extra $20." My stylist even apologized to me because of him. I was really irritated because my groupon stated a primp and blow which I explained to him when he had asked what service I was getting while placing the appt. The stylist knew as well. The entire "disclosure" was pointless since he didn't take 1 minute to check what service I had booked. Also, it's very unprofessional to demand someone to pay more while they are in the middle of their service when they've already paid for it. You must be at least morally obligated if not ethically obligated to give someone the opportunity to agree on paying more prior to the service. There was almost 6 hours in between the time I spoke to Bryce to place the appt from the time my appt was scheduled. I felt like he thought he was going to shame me into paying more. I have never felt discriminated against like this before. I hate to write a bad review because they stylist are so lovely here but anything can be ruined by terrible management.
