This week the Jolly Diners dropped in to Chino Bandito on 19th Ave.
Among Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives Chino Bandito is a Dive. It is somewhat south of casual. All food is ordered at the front counter after marking a piece of paper and handing it in. There is no wait staff.
Whatever you order is given to you picnic-style in foil containers. You get a napkin, steyrofoam cup, and small plastic utensils. The ambiance is just okay. The place could definately use redecorating; but it is clean.
Mom had the Teriyaki chicken bowl, both my sister and aunt ordered the Emerald Chicken. I had a vegan burrito with rice, black beans, and veggies. The people at the front counter were very kind and patient taking my order and making sure that I had a very delicious vegan burrito.
The saving Grace of this place is that the food is pretty good. It was delicious and well flavored. My mom and my aunt didn't have enough sauce on the Teriyaki or their Emerald chicken. I went to the front counter and they gave me containers of sauce.
Issue resolved.
If you're looking for a sit-down meal with your family where you want to be waited on, this is not the place for you. If you'd like just a complete do it yourself, in and out place with a decent price, and good food - this is the place for you.
The Jolly Diners rated Chino Bandido at a 3 out of 5.
