| - The food is good, but if you're looking for a good dining experience, head elsewhere, at least for now.
I keep being excited about having Pomegranate Cafe in our neighborhood, but I certainly hope that in a few months they have things ironed out, the soft opening doesn't seem to have alleviated the glitches.
We came in and ordered hummus to start. Later, we ordered our entrees. We knew the food takes quite a bit to come out, but after enquiring about the hummus about 20 minutes later, we were told that "it'll be out right away, they are just finishing making a new batch". And then nothing happened. Eventually the manager came out with some soup (which we didn't order or were asked if we actually wanted to eat, which we didn't), and about 30 seconds later our food came out. We had Elephant Bowls, which are great. Keep in mind though that the sustainable silverware does not have points on the forks, so you have to shovel your food rather than pick it up and the knives don't actually cut anything, which is trouble for any sort of broccoli pieces larger than your mouth. Eventually we asked for the check, and looky here, the hummus was on it. The excuse "Sorry, I don't know the computer system yet". Really? If that were the case, the better option would have been to ask your manager rather than make us pay for it. Just be honest and say you forgot. In case you're curious, the hummus DID come out, after we had paid and were stuffed.
In short, great food, if it ever comes, don't expect good communication, bring your own silverware.
