  • This place looks kind of like a little hole-in-the-wall when you drive by it ... and you might think to yourself "how is this one of the best rated steak houses in America?". Well, I can tell you after last night that it .... it just is. Every single person I've spoken to about Beef n Bottle has done nothing but reassured my anticipation for this meal. My suggest ... make a reservation in advance (Open Table points chicka-chicka-yeah) because this place is TINY inside. Started off with pinot noir ... the servers here are also the bartenders ... and they have a heavy hand. Huge pours = happy wife = happy life. Now to the food ... my wife got a salad to start, followed by her entree of Filet + Salmon with the mashed potatoes as a side. Salad was cool, since they bring everything on the side and you essentially build your own ... but it was just that, a salad. Nothing special about it, except the dressing. All of the dressing are homemade, and they're on point! Her filet + salmon was "amazing, and perfection" in her words. The salmon has this awesome bourbon glaze to it, and the filet --- well, it cut like butter. The mashed potatoes ... WOWZA were they good. Said the only steak that she's out (at a restaurant) was the original Omaha Steak House in Omaha, because well ... Omaha. I opted for the French Onion in lieu of the salad (a $2 upcharge) and I would say it was worth all 200 pennies. Not too salty ... just cheesy enough. Pretty darn good. I got the Filet + Scallops with mashed potatoes (added bacon + cheese to mine for $2 upcharge ... again worth all 40 nickels). The scampi style scallops had an incredible garlicy/herby/lemony flavor thanks to the sauce it was surrounded by. I may have dipped a few pieces of my perfectly cooked medium-rare filet in it for an extra flavor boost. After all there, there was just no room for dessert. BUT, what we saw on other's tables looked very delicious. Long story long ... this is one of the best damn values of any steakhouse you'll ever find. period. Here, $42 gets you a salad, filet + salmon, and a side. Try any other big box chain steak house and $42 will get you a piece of meat (if you're lucky) sans any sides. If you just want to come here for a "normal" night out ... you can get pasta for $15-$16, salmon by itself (but with salad and sides, of course) for $24 ... nothing that would "break the bank" per se. Do yourself a favor and grab your spouse/significant other/bootycall and get yo self over here right now to try this Charlotte landmark.
