| - Alright, so our lease is up!
There are a few things that I wanted to update you all on since my last review.
1. We had a few blunders during our lease, the biggest concern being the AC unit was faulty for the entire summer and we didn't realize it until the end of the season. This impacted our bill. I tried to reason with IH to receive a credit by submitting our APS billing data for review and analysis. The first time they came back with no real reason simply stating "That's normal for this time of year". I asked for another more in-depth review, which they did do but maintained their original decision. I suppose I'll chock it up to the inefficiency of the house, built in the late 70's and all original windows, and most thresholds were poorly sealed. This happened on a weekend (of course!) and IH handled it as fast as possible. The contractor they sent was able to provide a portable AC unit to help cool down.
2. Our water heater gave out in October! Made a huge mess in the garage and damaged some of my stored items. IH handled it promptly and had it replaced by the end of the night! (The unit gave out at 5pm, and their people were there until 11 fixing it!)
3. I requested to be present on the final move out inspection. There must have been a miscommunication because they did it without me. BUT, Lisa was a wonderful resource and was very helpful in sending me itemized bills for the small amount of charges we received, and I don't disagree with those. She answered all of my questions quickly and took the time to explain how their move out process works, which I really appreciated. Thanks, Lisa!
4. My portfolio manager, Brian, is not easy to get a hold of. Kinda bummed about that but he was more or less helpful with the issues we had.
Overall our experience with IH was much better than I had anticipated and I would rent from them again. In the end we received 86% of our deposit back.
