| rev:text | *long story short / service is hit or miss / just depends who's there but thy always get the job done*
I bought my car used and the stereo inside was a Pioneer App radio 2. It worked great with my IPhone 4s never an issue. Then comes along the iPhone 5,5s,5se,6,6s etcc you get where I'm going.
Once I upgraded my phone, app radio would connect but not play through my speakers only through my phone speakers however my Bluetooth phone calls did make it through my car speakers. I spent about two moths online reading, YouTube and even calling pioneer to get this resolved.
Since I couldn't get it figured out, I ended up listening to FM radio for about a year because I still had Bluetooth phone calls. Well after a year of FM radio I was about to stab my ear drums. I totally agree with some of these other comments.. the service is hit it or miss.. The first time I went in I explained what my situation was and the guy just talked bad about my car stereo (duh, dude it's why I came in to your store in the first place) but he then continued to tell me apple is horrible. (Matter of opinion) but if I'm an Apple user maybe you should sell me apple products Instead of trying to get me to go android. (Do you sell phones there as well?) so I left a little discouraged but I've had this place install speakers and a stereo on my mothers and sisters vehicles so I decided to go back on another day. The next time I ended up back at the store it's a different group of people and I explain my situation. Immediately the guy asks to go see my car, he gets in does some car guy stuff and tells me I need just a lighting adapter to get it to play sound through the speakers (40 bucks at Best Buy, why you don't carry this stuff in-store is beyond me) then he tells me if I want apps to work I need an hdmi/lighting adapter (60 bucks at Best Buy, again - why not carry these things in store?) my old cord that comes out of the dash was busted, after all it was for the 4s (the old iPhone port) so I asked how much to get the cord replaced. It was 20 for install and 120 for the cord (special order).
Day of install I show up with the adapter and the guy tells me it should take 30 minutes if I want to go get lunch or hang around the store. I told the guy I didn't want to linger, I'll Uber home and he'd just call me as soon as it's done. Well after 3 hours no call I decided to call and the man on the phone says he doesn't have a Honda in the shop. (WHAT? DUDE, WHERES MY CAR?) someone else picks up and tells me it was ready over 3 hours ago! I never got the phone call telling me it was done and I wasted half my day off waiting for my car. I suggest hiring a woman to handle phone calls, appointments, etc. because boys will be boys and you can tell they just kinda show up for the paycheck. Am I happy with my old radio and not having to buy a new one? Yes! Does my sisters and mothers car Stereos work ? Yes! Will I be back? Yes... but I'm going to look for the gentleman who helped me the second time / I wish I knew his name but I never forget a face.. |
