  • I've never gotten a pair of shoes repaired, I typically just live with broken heel tips, and eventually get new shoes. But because I love a pair of shoes so much, I decided to get take them to a shoe repair shop. My husband mentioned that this guy does "sign flipping" for a new shoe repair place by our house, so I figured that I'd give them a try. Nice and convenient, and eager for new business. I go to the shop and drop off my favorite pumps which were in need of new heel tips, and see what they could do about the "slip" of a new pair of python flats that I got. As I stated before, I'm new to this shoe repair business. The customer service lady kept on pointing out things that were wrong with my shoes, and talked me into $96 worth of work. For the pumps: new insoles, heel tips, and reinforcing the front of the sole. For the flats, rubber soles, and regluing the front. When she quoted me, the newbie to shoe repair, I just agreed, thinking that this was normal, and that I'd be uber satisfied. They quoted me a week, and I returned a bit after their courtesy call for pick up with my 2 toddlers. Upon inspection, the only bit that I was satisfied with was the heel tip, which was the only work I should've agreed upon. The insoles were cheap leather, the reinforcement looked like old leather, the rubber soles on the flats cut off unevenly, and worst of all, the glue job looked like it hadn't been done. The lady stated that I could leave the shoes, and they'd fix them. As it's difficult for me to run this type of errand, I refused to leave them, so she had her "boss" fix the shoes. He fixed one to my satisfaction, as my two kids and I sat in the store that reeked of strong chemicals like glue and shoe polish. I then asked them to fix the other shoe. When she returned it to me, the glue was all over the front. These are a $1000 pair of python flats that now have a bunch of glue on the front. I paid $22 for them to put what looked like gorilla glue all over them. I told them my discontent, and they still made me pay for it. Please save your money and your shoes! Go elsewhere!
