Well Friends - I can now say that I have also had a taste of the Gestapo tactics from the Security team at The Pearl at the Palms. We were kicked out of Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) last night for taking pictures on our phones , without a Flash even. About 3/4 of the way through the show , Security approached our seats and told us that we were to leave immediately for taking pictures with our cell phones (our CELL phones) without a FLASH. Security came to our seats on the floor and told us we had been warned several times , when no one warned us about anything all night. When we were escorted out , they pointed to a sign that said NO CELL PHONES OR CAMERAS which was not visible to us before the show. They had mentioned that this was a request of the ARTISTS , and said we needed to exit the venue immediately. I have never been kicked out of a show in my life , especially for taking a couple of photos ; which , by the way , many other people were doing as well. We were completely mellow at the show the entire time and were swaying back and forth in our seats , and having a really good time before that. Jethro Tull is one of my all time favorite bands. Be warned of the Security at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms.
We were on the floor , which has the tightest seating on folding chairs. even if you are in the balcony/mezzanine seating it is really tight seating.I think this way they can squeeze more seats in to maximize seats sold.
Another major problem is the cost of the drinks. They won`t serve you an iced tap water in a cup ; but they will sell you a seven dollar water and take the lid from you.. You will pay top dollar for a beer and they will serve it to you out of a 6oz. can poured into a cup.Liquor is not out of a botlle but out of a liquor gun.How do you know what you are truly getting.
This is a great venue for the sound and visuals ; but a lot of the other negatives leave something else to be desired.
