I have to agree with Zion B. and give a shout out to Dan's Eyeglass Repair. When one of the arms popped off my expensive eyeglass frames a couple of years ago, I visited Sally at Sally's Optical Secrets, fully expecting I would have to shell out hundreds of bucks for some new frames. To Sally's credit (and a shout out to her, too! No wonder several of my family members are loyal customers), she suggested Dan. His shop, hidden away in what once was a strip mall with access to Independence Boulevard, was one of the more obscure businesses I've ever accessed in town, but well worth searching out. His shop was a throwback to other craftsmen's studios I've visited (I'm thinking about Jack Leonard's watch repair shop in Winston-Salem here). And his service charges were rock bottom. For a measly fifteen bucks I got at least two more years worth of wear from my designer specs. In fact, my vision will probably deteriorate before my glasses do. Dan's a keeper!
