It is always difficult to find someone to help me find items and the store is poorly organized. This most recent trip I needed quite a few varied items. I was able to eventually find all but two. Finally someone noticed that I looked lost and frustrated and asked if she could help me find anything. I told her I was looking for a certain type of file holder and that if couldn't find the type of printer ink I need. She took me to two different locations in the store for the file holders before giving up and telling me she needed to ask someone else and she would be right back. She never even addressed my printer ink question. Ten minutes went by and I got tired of waiting and browsing. I decided to take my items to the register and just do without the ones that nobody would help me find.
On my way to the front of the store, I saw the girl who had been "helping" me casually chatting me with her coworkers in the copy center. Thanks for abandoning me, that wasn't unprofessional at all!
I mentioned to the cashier that I had not been able to find everything I needed and she led me right to the file holders, yet also ignored the fact that I need printer ink. What I needed was color toner in all four colors. That's a $600 sale that TWO employees passed up because they either weren't listening or were too lazy to help me out.
The icing on the cake was when the cashier was checking me out while also on the phone. The person on the phone got her full attention while I got sign language and not even a thank you.
There are so many simple things that could have happened to not make this visit a horrible experience. Office Max, your level of customer service is unacceptable.
