  • 01/08/18 I'm bumping my review back down to one star. I went to see the doctor for a swollen thyroid. They did an ultrasound and bloodwork in house checking for a thyroid disorder. I saw Dr. Walton a week later for the results. (I had an appointment the following week to see an endocrinologist.) However, I needed Dr Waltman's referral to see the specialist. After the specialist reviewed my ultrasound and blood work today he realized: 1. That even though I asked for a full panel blood test for thyroid Dr Walton did not follow through. So now I have to get more bloodwork. My results are inconclusive because I don't have all the testing that needs to be done to determine a proper diagnosis. On top of that I'm taking biotin which affects the results of the blood work. Dr Waltman never mentioned this. 2. Dr. Walton suggested a biopsy on my left thyroid after he reviewed my ultrasound report. So I scheduled a biopsy three weeks from now. He advised me to cancel my appointment with the endocrinologist and make an appointment until AFTER the biopsy. I'm glad I did not reschedule because the specialist does biopsies in his office. He got me scheduled for a biopsy next week which is three weeks earlier than the other doctor. 3. The specialist did a second ultrasound in his office. He found that the first ultrasound tech in Dr Walton's office did not take pictures of my right side thyroid, only the left side. The left side has a fluid filled cyst and the right side actually has three solid nodules that they completely missed! So had I followed Dr. Walton's advice and rescheduled my appointment with the specialist, it would be three weeks to go in for a biopsy. Then I would've seen the specialist a month after that. Also I would've had to go in for ANOTHER biopsy because the specialist found nodules on my right side which Dr. Waltman's office did not find. Dr. Walton only gave me a prescription for a biopsy on the left side of my thyroid only. So if I would've listen to Dr. Waltman's advice from the time I first found a lump in my throat when I actually have a solid diagnosis would've been three months at least had I not been pushy getting into the specialist asap! But since I was proactive, I'm getting everything taken care of within one month! I possibly could have cancer of the thyroid. I have two babies at home I cannot afford to mess around with something like this. It's my life! I believe this office is good for referrals and that's it. You want a proper diagnosis and you want care you need to see a specialist! My husband went in to check for prostate cancer, and testosterone levels. I would advise him to go to see a specialist not take this doctors word for a diagnosis! This doctor told me I did not have anything wrong with my thyroid by checking the blood levels. Not only is that not true but he missed a whole heck of a lot by not scanning the right side of my thyroid for more nodules! How can an ultrasound technician miss that? I'm just completely shocked. The nodules on my right side of my thyroid are just as big as the left side! Original review: I needed a primary care doctor to refer me to a specialist. We had a hard time finding the place. No signs outside. The staff is very nice. Small clean office and very laid back. Check in is not private so whoever is in the waiting room can hear whatever you say. We had zero wait and they do not over book! I appreciate that! Blood-work is taken there. Ivan does a good job you can get ultrasounds done there as well. A tech comes in once a month or they can refer you out. Dr. Waltman is very nice. Not a bad office to come in to get an annual well check.
