| - Went here after receiving a gift certificate from a fellow foodie friend. Wow, I am still thinking about the succulent dark chocolate truffle that came on our freebie chef's sampler dessert plate. We ordered two prix fixes, one of which came with the much worshiped twice baked parmesan souffle with morels. Both of our fish entrees (barramundi and striped sea bass) were excellent. The only lackluster item was the rolls. Service was great without being pretentious. I bumped my reservation the same evening after we got back late from climbing, which wasn't a problem. The restaurant called the following day for feedback, which I didn't find intrusive.
Update:
After a second visit I'm bumping my review down a star. The wait staff were helpful as always. There was a glitch with our order, so we were given an additional appetizer of our choice (squash risotto with basil pesto and goat cheese cream sauce) gratis. We ordered the prix fixes again, this time with parmesan souffle, flat iron steak, goat cheesecake, crab cakes, Japanese sea bass, and pecan pie. The squash risotto (a daily special) and pecan pie were both stellar. The rich carmelly pie was the best I've had. The souffle wasn't as good as our previous visit. The crab cakes were run of the mill and I found the bass to be bland underneath the super salty panko/prosciutto crust. I also didn't care for the sauce that came with the steak. Maybe it was an off night.
