| - The synopsis of my review: They saved my cat, were kind, compassionate and were always available for updates. That being said, I will provide the good, the bad and the ugly of my experience with The Central Toronto Veterinary Referral Clinic
The good:
They saved my cat's life when he had a urinary tract obstruction. This is without a doubt the most important thing (And a big part of my "Good"). They also provided constant updates and were never bothered with my insistent calls at all hours to ask about the status of my cat and further concerns I had. He is now on the path to recovery and has not re-obstructed.
They were compassionate, caring and informed about everything, also they were very quick with every procedure.
Also they allow you to come back as many times within 24 hours of releasing if you need to have your pet re-examined
The bad:
The cost is a big part of it...Now I haven't had to do any major procedures with any of my pets so I don't have much of a frame of reference, but for the full procedure I am out almost $2500.00, so be aware when you walk in...Not to mention that I was told it's either the procedure, or my cat dies. My current, regular vet (Which wasn't open at the time of me admitting my cat) informed me that they could have done it for much less...Which brings me to the next part...
The ugly
So I was talking to my regular vet (Who got the report on the clinic) and they got fairly mad that this clinic didn't attempt to transfer my cat to them for the observation period (And could have potentially saved me a lot of money). So make sure that if you're admitting an animal for a procedure that requires a 24+ hour hospitalization, inquire about transferring to your regular vet
