Last week the Eco Bistro near my job had BBQ chicken sandwich on the menu and I was expecting at least mediocrity and I got sadness. I was expecting lots of sauce, and pulled chicken and I did not get that. I was so elated when I discovered Southside BBQ Company truck outside of my job today and the pulled BBQ chicken sandwiches on their menu because this is what a BBQ chicken sandwich should taste like. It's flavorful, savory, juicy and saucy. I opted to not go for the coleslaw because I'm a strong believer that meatloaf and coleslaw belong in the trash. I also added extra "not" sauce on my sandwich because it's BBQ and it was great. I wanted so badly to grab the spicy BBQ sauce but as much as I love spicy, it does not love me back. The sauce compliments the chicken and it's sweet and tangy and it makes you sad when you realize that it's all gone. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I got a great sandwich for a little over five bucks in record timing from a truck. I'm definitely going to have to check them out the next time I want BBQ because I have no desire to cook it on my own. The guys who run this truck most definitely know their BBQ.
