| - I came here every 2 weeks from Feb 2016- Sept 2017, and I had an overall "okay" experience. I had a hard time finding a good (and affordable) nail salon after moving up from Columbus, and ended up initially finding this place because of Groupon. I am always nervous when trying something new through Groupon, but it had good reviews at the time, and I figured for less than $25 for a shellac I could try it out. They ended up doing a great job, so I decided to make this my regular nail place.
I had the shellac membership where I got 2 shellacs and soak-offs per month for only $50, which is a great deal! I used to see Chelsea every two weeks and she always did a great job, was very friendly and professional. After she left, I started seeing Christina who I really loved, and who also always did a great job. I eventually started getting my hair cut by her as well. During my 18 months of coming here, I had my nails done by 2 other girls, once when Chelsea left, and once when Christina was on vacation, and both times my nails turned out HORRIBLY. After that I refused to go to anyone else.
I had several issues with the salon while I was going there, but in all fairness, they did try to correct the issues when I brought them to their attention. While I enjoyed this place for the most part, my biggest complaint (aside from the high employee turnover) would be their inventory system. Several times they were out of certain items needed for the manicure, and end up having to share items between 2 techs/clients, which takes a little bit more time. The most frustrating part of that would be how they would run out of shellac colors and never seem to replace them. I'm a person who likes to wear the same shellac colors a lot, so it sucked when they'd run out of golds, grays, nudes, and deep reds. They told me I could buy my own polish to bring in, which I considered, but when you're already paying for the service + tip, I don't feel like buying a new bottle of gel polish every time I want to change my color. I've never been to a salon where they run out of product so frequently. It was really disappointing, and I considered just canceling my membership just due to them never having colors I wanted. But the price was still good, and I loved Christina, so I just sucked it up and tried to be glad that at least my nails were done.
Unfortunately in September Christina left, and after my negative experiences with the other nail girls, and knowing how high the turnover rate was, I decided I was done coming here. The salon environment here is very uncomfortable and you can feel the tension between the employees and owner. Do they have good deals? Yes. But as someone who worked in a salon for years, I know that constant "sales" mean under paid and under appreciated employees.
