| - So we went during restaurant week last Friday. And definitely had reservations, previously had tried to go to Citizen in April and it was slammed.
I loved the multiple course menu idea and to be honest I think they should do it often for certain weekends as nothing beats that. We both had the Chopped Salad, which to be honest...was amazing. Great idea, and it sports it's own Facebook page. We also shared the drink pairing, the first one which was vodka based made sense but we really weren't that interested in it. For the second course she had the Buttermilk chicken and I the pan seared scallops. Both were amazing, the grits were very fine and I hate grits. The grits were quite tasteful. The second drink was a citrus and gin cocktail, definitely see how it went with the scallops or the chicken, it was good but no idea how it would couple with the meatloaf.
For our desert I chose the Peanut Butter Strata Bar and she the Pig In the Orchard, the peanut butter strata bar tasted as though I could ascend to heaven. The bread pudding was ok, but the maple ice cream that came with it was decadent. The cocktail was patron cafe based and it completely went with either deserts.
I would say the skills of the bar tender and the chef were in full display, the only thing that could have made this a five star night would have been our waiter being way more attentive. He gets a pass as it seemed they needed more wait staff, so given how many patrons he had he did good work.
