| - Durst is the Worst!
I'm excited that I will never, ever set foot in a Durst Cycle store again. Customer service, particularly as it relates to warranty of products they sell or workmanship of service they perform, is AWFUL. I have had the biggest runaround too many times. As other reviewers have said, this place has a terrible reputation. Learn from our mistakes.
Got a problem with something you purchased there? Don't expect to hear anything helpful over the phone. Jared the manager too often is 'with another customer, he'll call you back'. Does Jared call back? Not if he knows you have an issue. So you go to the store, and can Jared be found? Today, this Columbus Day, I was told 'he went to the bank'. Yeah right, and just which bank is open on a federal holiday? But really, there's no need to talk to Jared, as he has no interest in your satisfaction. In fact, I swear the approach at Durst Cycle is to make any kind of issue you have (including a manufacturer warranty) your problem, not theirs.
What baffles me is that I would get this awful treatment no matter how many new bikes, accessories, and clothing I purchased from Durst Cycle. No more!
I stopped shopping there years ago, but last June I found myself back in the store regarding a lifetime warranty issue on a Cannondale jacket (the zipper failed). Four months, 10 trips, and 20 phone calls later, and Durst finally replaced the jacket. Not without telling me that it was my fault the jacket broke, that he was replacing it out of the goodness of his heart, and don't bother coming back if this jacket fails. Should I have any more problems with a warrantied item, I'll drive to Canada if necessary to find a different dealer.
Save yourself a lot of time, headache, and money, and go to any other bike store in Champaign-Urbana. You'll immediately increase the odds of finding a business that actually appreciates having a customer.
