I tried the Parlor one year ago on a recommendation plus it's up the street from me. I usually go to Valerie at Ulta on Sahara so if I could find a close salon to call home great! Plus with the 5star rating I figured they would do a good job.
I asked the girl if she can match my root color, which is light brown. And I also wanted Carmel blond highlights. She said yes no problem. The foils that she used were so thick it was ridiculous! When I was all processed and washed I sat in her chair and looked in the mirror. I began to cry! My roots were black with orange highlights. The owner Matt, was doing a woman's hair next to me and didn't say a word. The girl said she could fix it and so I went to the bowl, like an idiot and she proceeded to put something in my hair then messaged it in all over, she was doing a bleach wash. When that was all done and back to her chair. I had a melt down. My roots were now red and highlights still an orange color. The owner was finishing up on the same woman's hair next to me and said nothing. I cried covering my face with my hands. I was thinking I look horrible and now I have to wait looking horrible to have my hair fixed. The girl kept saying please let me try and fix it. I said 'no you have done enough'. She didn't charge me and as I was walking out the door the owner was sitting at the front with some other guy and said not a word to me! He owns this place and you'd think he'd offer to fix it. Oh wait maybe he didn't have the confidence to fix it so he let a crying customer walk out his salon's door!
I sat in my car and cried for a good 10minutes! I was in shock! I have never recommended this place, all my family and friends stay clear of the Parlor too. Valerie at Ulta fixed my hair thank God!
