You can find this place listed on Hotwire with 4-stars, an 80% recommended rating for "South Strip Casino and Hotel." I found it for $66 after taxes, not including the $25 hotel resort fee.
Casino downstairs is small and appears to be confused, a strange hybrid of bright casino lights and white tile and wall. Plenty of convention space and small little vendors selling trinkets in the hall to your room. Friend went downstairs to get food, and he was gone for 45 minutes to get a burger to-go.
Make no mistake that this is a hardcore budget stay, simply a place to put your head down for a few hours before heading out again. Room was damp and dated, complemented with tacky wicker furniture... not short of realistic expectations- aside from the fact this is listed as 4-star.
I'd rather stay at the Westgate for the same price, especially as the Westgate is right on the tram line. You can find that one on Hotwire under "Las Vegas Convention Center Hotel" and 4-stars for a much cleaner, newer stay.
