rev:text	UPDATE: I have upgraded my review from a 1-star to a 3-star based on how receptive and available the team at The Sunny Plumber has been. Chad, the service manager reached out within just a couple hours of my initial posting looking to rectify the situation quickly. I can honestly say they really care about giving great customer service. Even though I had a less than optimal first impression based on some of the issues listed below I would feel good recommending them to a friend or family who needs service. =============================== =============================== First off, I want to start by saying that my service tech Cruz was absolutely great on a personal level. He was awesome to work with and talk to, but aside from our personal interactions my experience with The Sunny Plumber has been entirely lacking. Especially considering the price tag. Here's a rundown: Problem 1) I called to schedule service on a Tuesday evening. By Thursday afternoon no one had contacted me to schedule my service, so I had to call back in order to even get my initial service appointment scheduled correctly. Problem 2) They advertise a $97 drain cleaning. The fine print does outline that this price only applies to a ground-accessible drain outlet, but zero other pricing is readily available. I had no way of knowing that a simple under-sink kitchen drain cleaning costs triple that amount! The fact that their pricing is very cloudy and they only promote pricing when it appeals to their marketing needs is questionable. This isn't a problem unique to this company though. I can't find a single plumber who will give ballpark or itemized service pricing over the phone. Bad practice all around. Problem 3) After Cruz was unable to clear my drain clog during his initial visit he and a supervisor suggested trimming off part of the under sink pipes for easier access to the line. The replacement pieces were charged to me at $125. The total cost of the actual piping necessary for the fix couldn't be more than $10. 10x markup for supplies is insane. Problem 4) Even after trimming my under-sink pipes and adding on $125 to my bill Cruz was unable to clear the clog. After everything I was charged $425 for an entirely unsuccessful drain cleaning. Cruz was only at my house for 3.5 hours tops. Charging the equivalent of $120/hour for an unsuccessful service is crazy. Problem 5) Cruz had to come back the following day after our initial visit to patch up my pipes correctly, and I'm pretty sure he still didn't patch them up right. After completing the work it appears that he simply pasted over the slip joint nuts with red hot blue glue or whatever their equivalent is. Shouldn't a simple slip joint nut under the sink be accessible for me to unscrew in case of a clog in the line? Instead it's glued shut. Problem 6) I called the office on Sunday and left a message for a supervisor or representative to call me back this week to discuss the experience. No one has called me. Overall, the experience has has shown me that the team is relatively unorganized, disconnected from their customers, and entirely overpriced.
