Last Spring I went to Midas to have my winter tires changed and stored. The tires were on rims. I paid 152.49 for the half year of storage and labour. I arrived today to have them changed, only to be told that I didn't tell them that the tires were stored in the tire hotel. I felt like I was being blamed for the mistake. Since I only dealt directly with Midas and they were arranging everything, I quite honestly didn't think to mention it. I knew I was in their data base since I had also had my exhaust system completely replaced there last year. In this day and age, it doesn't take much to check the computer. I guess I assumed they would simply look me up when I made the app't, or my name would come up. I feel like I was dealt with rudely, no apology or offer of any compensation. I explained that I took a sick day from work in order to have this appointment. The front desk person took phone calls while I stood there, rather than finish with me which only further irritated me.
It's all about customer service. An apology and an offer not to charge the labour at a re-scheduled app't would have been enough to keep me as a customer. Midas is trying to bill itself as a full service garage. People want to feel they can trust their garage. I do not feel that way.
We all make mistakes. It could have been either of our mistakes. Being treated the way I was simply made me angry.
