I recently purchased a pair of glasses that included the transition lenses. The lenses were 441 and my plan covered 281. The one you see on TV changing to sunglasses when you step out in the sun.
The first day I have them, I notice that they are not really getting dark at all. When I got home after work, I took them off and put them directly into the sun for five minutes. There was no real change in the color. I called the store and was then told by a salesperson that those lenses really don't work that well in bright light and heat. I suggested that this is Phoenix, AZ and light and heat are in the definition of the place. Anyway, he told me to come in and we would work out a deal on a real pair of sunglasses.
I went to do that today and was told that if I wanted a pair of sunglasses it would be about 300 and that was with a whopping 50 dollar discount. In my opinion, poor compensation for I won't say lying, because I don't think that's fair, but certainly under informing me about the product.
And just for a contrast, i was in Chicago last week. It was overcast and 61 degrees and those lenses still didn't change.
All in all a lousy experience.
