  • My need was to have one of those new $250 smart thermostats installed. Actually the basic installation was easy, where I needed a pro was figuring out why my HVAC was different from most and whether I needed a special adapter unit inside the main unit to provide power to the wall unit. Anyone who lives in Arizona knows that main HVAC units installed in this area can be the size of a Volkswagen and are usually mounted high up on the roof. NOT something I was capable or wanted to do myself. The thermostat manufacturer, based in Canada, recommended AiRite locally. As a homeowner I've had my share of unfortunate experiences with unprofessional fly-by-night HVAC companies and in our climate one thing we definitely don't want to mess up is our air conditioning. My first impressions of AiRite were good. They set a firm appointment time, not a "morning or afternoon" window. The scheduled time was 7 AM and the tech showed up at my door at exactly 7 AM. He was professionally dressed, courteous and friendly. You get the sense after dealing with enough service companies that a tech either knows what they are doing or that they're winging it. This tech was obviously experienced with this brand of smart thermostat and had it installed, tested and operational promptly. He took the time to explain to me some of the peculiarities of my HVAC system and did not try to push or up sell non-essential parts, services or warranties. He did not make a mess but rather did a good job of tidying up. Note that I don't know this company and if I had picked them myself it would have been totally random. Because the manufacturer of my new thermostat suggested them they are the company I went with. Now after having used their services I am very pleased and would recommend them, especially if you're working with any of the pricey newer technology "smart" HVAC products.
