| - My 24 hour doughnut stop! Dulce always impresses me with well-stocked, fresh tasting doughnuts after 10pm. I have yet to visit in the day time, but paying $2.89 for four doughnuts or two doughnuts with a medium coffee is a good choice any time of day.
I rarely choose cake doughnuts, but the selections looked hard to resist. I'm in love with Dulce's zapatos, available plain, glazed, or with chocolate or maple frosting. Later, I realized the official name is buttermilk bar, but the friendly Mexican baker went along with our nickname, so they will always be zapatos to me. The perfectly fried exterior always has a nice crunch and the cake inside isn't too sweet. I've also tried a French cruller that was very fresh with a proper eggy, airy interior. Yeast-raised and filled doughnuts are also great choices. Their standard glazed stands tall, usually around two inches. Breakfast sandwiches also sound appealing here, so this neighborhood doughnut shop is worth a stop if you're nearby, or after a meal at KoMex!
