| - The spa amenities are standard day spa fair--hot tubs, saunas, quiet rooms with snacks. It was nice and relaxing. I was a little disappointed when it was time for my treatment because all of that relaxation disappeared. The attendant was hurrying around, visibly flustered. She mispronounced my first name and another lady's simple name to the point where neither of us recognized that she was calling for us.
Then, when I got to the room, my oil options were unscented, coconut, mango or pineapple. Where was the lavender or eucalyptus or anything that doesn't smell like a smoothie?
I chose an 80-minute sports massage. The masseuse was clearly also in a rush and hardly asked me any questions before starting. He used a lot of pressure, but it felt like he was finding the knots, working a little bit, and then moving on without fully addressing them. He spent a disproportionately long time on my feet and not nearly enough work into the knots in my shoulders.
I noticed within 20 minutes after my massage that I had matching bruises on my quads and in a few other places. That was a bit surprising, but not in a good way.
All in all, the spa is nice. I think I was there during some sort of busy rush, and I don't think I'll be signing up for a sports massage there again.
