Here goes. I've been to Eleven multiple times and I enjoy most meals I have had here. I do think its a tad overrated but nevertheless would usually give a strong 3.5-4 stars. I NEVER LEAVE 1 STAR REVIEWS!
My friend decided he wanted the Eleven burger which he has had before. We were getting takeout and so he called and it went to the bar. Kind gentleman (I won't say names) answered and proceeded to take the order. When he was asked what kind of cheese he decided he wanted 2 kinds of cheese. The gentleman said he thought that would be a really "sloppy" burger for takeout if they would put 2 kinds of cheese. Eh ok appreciate the concern but we would like 2 cheeses (really not a huge change). So after a back and forth of him saying that he just didn't think it was a good idea and us continuously asking, I suggested to tell him to put one cheese on the side to solve the issue. He then said well I'm not sure we can do that. What? We aren't calling Wendy's. This is a $15 burger. So my friend repeated with "you can't just give me the other cheese on the side?" and then he said "well this will be an upcharge" and he replied with "that's fine can you tell me how much" and the gentleman said he didn't know. OK FINE you work at the bar I get that (however you can order all food at the bar) but you can't just look at the computer and see what extra cheese is going to cost? By the end my friend just ended up saying "Ok, how about I just call back" and immediately the guy says "oh no i mean we can do all that for you" but we just said no thanks and ended the call.
Literally all we wanted was 2 kinds of cheese and we would have paid for it. I usually don't get dramatic and say "I won't be back" but I don't know if I will this time. They've taken a good amount of my money, and this was just a very sour moment.
