| - I telephoned this company late on Friday afternoon and was quoted $86 per hour. The person never gave me their name unfortunately, but I liked them a lot, and had a good feeling. I was phoning around to see which company I preferred, it didn't necessarily have to be the cheapest, just the company I felt I could trust more. On Monday morning, I telephoned again to book our local move and spoke to a man called Chris. I explained that we would move all the boxes ourselves, we needed a couple of moving guys to move our furniture. We don't have a great deal of furniture as it's just my husband and I. I could basically list what we had which needed moving over the telephone. But Chris said that they would have to send someone over to the house to see what we have to move. This was the first company to want to do this, other companies were happy for me to just tell them. I asked Chris what their hourly rate was and he quoted me $97 per hour. I informed him that the person on Friday quoted me $86 per hour and could he give me that price still. He became instantly defensive and rude saying "so if you knew the hourly rate, why did you ask me" I informed him that I was just making sure it was the same still. For the rest of the conversation, he was nothing but rude. He said that he didn't want to give me an hourly rate until they sent someone over to the house to see what we have. I explained that I didn't understand why that might alter the hourly rate and told that to him, as we don't have anything out of the ordinary to move. He then said "Well you are the kind of person who needs to hear a rate". I informed him that everyone wants to hear a rate as that is the reason why we call to get an estimate! He wouldn't give me the original quoted rate and continued to be extremely rude. You may have fantastic movers Move 4 Less, but if you continue to have rude staff as your first point of contact, you will be losing out on a lot of business. I have booked up with another company thanks to Chris!
