Wow I hope this was a singular experience because otherwise this place went downhill fast. Service was slow, food was very very inconsistent. Pork and slaw tasted good, but portion size was very small compared to previous visits. Brother had same thing and his was just dripping with grease. About 1/8 of a cup of it. Gross! Dads pork tenderloin was tasty but about half the previous size. One Mac and cheese side was good and another portion tasted sour, like bad milk. Even the fried pickles were smaller, saltier, and more overcooked than normal. Told server and her response was "well it came out of the same batch" (for mac and cheese) or "it was the same pork shoulder" (for the sandwich swimming in grease). No effort made to make it right other than to offer to make another sandwich. She blamed slowness on a " new guy in the kitchen who got overwhelmed". Took almost and hour and a half to eat and this was after the normal lunch rush. The only other time I experienced that the food wasn't top notch was also on the weekend. If the owner is going to be gone on the weekends, to BBQ competitions and such, he should at least leave the restaurant in more capable hands. Terrible first impression for my brother who was in from out of town, and looking forward to this meal.
