| - I've now been to SkinBar twice, for two different services and I'm very happy with them! I was a spa virgin before this, but definitely will be heading back for more.
The doors open into a bright, calm lobby lined with what seems like a million products. SkinBar feels more rustic and homey than the sometimes antiseptic, spartan feel of some spas and salons. The treatment rooms are dimly lit and filled with music.
My first treatment was a body sugar scrub, done by Breanna, which was fabulous. Over the weekend, I went back in for a signature massage, also done by Breanna. Both treatments were relaxing and I felt totally pampered. I highly recommend both. The sugar scrub is great when you just don't feel like your loofah is getting you completely exfoliated. The scrub is rubbed on with massage strokes. It feels like it's working, but is not painful. Then, you're wrapped up in a warm blanket and left to percolate for a few minutes. Warm, wet towels are used to wash the scrub away. This is followed by a luxurious lotion application. I felt like I had all new skin and it was positively glowing. My second treatment, the Signature massage, was much-need after the world's most stressful week of work. Breanna was great in getting to all my trouble spots (she has super strong hands for being such a tiny person!) and also in letting me totally relax. I felt renewed and ready to take on the next workweek.
The treatment prices seem to be either in line with or lower than comparable spas in the area (Sugar scrub - $65, 55 minute massage - $55). Making an appointment is a breeze. Calling on Friday to book my massage on Saturday was not a problem at all. Everyone in the spa is very friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed coming here and am itching to get back to try the Pomegranate facial!
