| - OK, so count me in as one of those elitist Scottsdale people who wouldn't normally venture to Peoria for theater. But this place is legit!
Tickets are a bit spendy, but they do include a pretty good meal. For Shrek, the meal was bread service (rolls and cornbread), a watermelon salad or corn chowder, and a number of entrees). Drinks, even soda or tea, are not included, nor is dessert.
Dinner is before the show (doors open at 5:00 but we arrived at 6:35 and felt we had the perfect amount of time to order and eat), and the show is scheduled to start at 7:30 -- but didn't until 7:50. You order dessert before the show begins, and then it's brought out at intermission. Service from the staff was plentiful and friendly.
We actually didn't stay for the entire show because I can't sit for very long (crappy back) and the show was waaaay longer than we had anticipated -- keep this in mind if you bring kids to the show!
I would say this is a hidden gem, but our show (Saturday, evening) was completely full, so clearly West-siders are aware of this great place to see top-caliber shows (by local performers, even!)!
