| - I had heard AMAZING things about this show from a lot of my friends, and as soon as I entered the theatre, I could see why everyone enjoyed it. The set was amazing, and I really liked the layout of the theatre. There is a catwalk leading from the stage that kind of has other catwalks coming off of it, and the performers run around them throughout the show, so basically you'll be able to see some close-up action no matter where you sit. The only downside is that if you're at one of the tables in the middle, you might have to turn around and look behind you to see some of the performers at different points. One of my friends warned me of this in advance, so I initially bought tickets to sit in the back theatre section so I wouldn't have to turn around during the show. When we entered, however, one of the kind and thoughtful ushers asked us if we would like to sit on stage instead, so we happily accepted that upgrade.
We bought a couple of drinks while we were in there; a $5 water (!!!) and 2 $15 cocktails that were very strong and definitely helped us get in the mood for such a fun show. The show itself was amazing. The costumes were great, the singing was superb, the dancers were amazing - everything contributed to a truly incredible show. I liked how the songs were traded back and forth between the three storylines, like "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" was performed by Daisy from the Great Gatsby instead of the girl from Moulin Rouge, which mixed things up a bit.
This show is perfect for those who love musical theatre and aren't turned off by a good romance (or three, haha). In a city where musicals have been closing left and right, this is a truly incredible show that I hope will have a very long run.
