  • Went here yesterday for a very belated birthday dinner and thought it would be an interesting place to try because of the whole Italian-Japanese fusion aspect! I had high expectations of the place and decided to order the squid ink pasta since I was feeling very adventurous. It is also listed as number 2 of their popular items! The dish itself looked very interesting since it was pretty much pitch black (not something you see everyday!). In terms of taste, the ink contributes a slight bitter aftertaste, but it was very mild. I was kind of disappointed since it tasted like regular pasta and they do use a good amount of oil so you can see and taste that as well. The price they charge for the squid ink pasta is not worth trying the dish, but if you have a friend who decides to order it, go ahead and just try a bite. The novelty wears off pretty fast and I actually didn't finish my dish because the ink does stain your lips and teeth. So unless you are super comfortable with the people you are eating with, I would avoid this dish (i.e. like on a first date lol). I also ordered their garlic bread which was number 4 on their popular menu list and that dish was pretty good. I would recommend ordering it, but be warned that their is a lot of garlic and the bread is soaked in oil. Kind of disappointed that the price you pay for one order doesn't really reflect the quality and quantity. My friend ordered the pasta with uni which was their number one item, but he didn't really seem to like it. I had a bite and it was just really creamy and I didn't really taste too much of the uni. Let's just say I was glad I went with the squid ink pasta over the uni one lol. I also got to try the 3 dessert sampler and I enjoyed 2 out of the 3 items that they gave. The one I didn't like was the green jello looking one which I assume was supposed to taste like green tea. It tasted like a bitter mix of green tea and coffee with a weird aftertaste. One of my friends described it as stale ube and she's apparently had that before lol! I would not recommend ordering this item. Overall, I would recommend this place to those who want to try a fusion place, but they do have to work on their dishes a bit. Just don't come in with high expectations like I did and maybe it will be a better experience. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly so it made the experience really nice. They kept checking up on us and refilled our drinks without having to call them over.
