| - BEWARE OF IMPOSTORS! I decided to use Zerorez because Heidi Harris advertises it on her radio program. Zero Residue (fake Zerorez) is a front man for independent carpet cleaners. Nobody or their equipment has Zerorez (fake) written on it. My experience is, a kid does the carpet cleaning while the con man works you over. He seemed like a nice enough guy but my $99 for any 3 rooms went to $500. In the past I have paid $200 and I move all the furniture. I have 4 rooms and a staircase. I asked about the "Zerorez" process. I was told if you want it cleaned you need chemicals. These Chemicals were apparently $320, as I paid an additional $25, on top of the $500, in taxes on the material and credit card fee. They finished. The carpet started to dry, and the same traffic patterns and black on the edge of the stair treads came back. After I was informed what we typically pay for carpet cleaning, and the dark spots started coming through, I called them back. I told them they missed behind all the doors, there are still trails, there were black edges on the stair treads and the carpet was still soaked after 5 hours. I was told the black on the carpet edged was from the carbon from the air conditioner. I said I thought you were going to clean the carpet? He said you can't get that out. So they cleaned the areas, added more water, and left a big puddle of water at the base of the stairs, on our wood floor. I sense "Zero Residue" (Fake Zerorez) gets a big cut from the "sale" and the independent contractor gets his $200. I was anticipating a new way of carpet cleaning so it might be worth part of the price, but when I was told what we normally pay, I felt violated. The carpet looks like a $200 carpet cleaning job. Out of the kindness of their hearts, they cleaned an area rug. I feel like this is an old fashion con job.
Update:
Found out they operate under a number of different names - Desert Carpet Cleaning is the real company that is registered with the state. I have attached a BBB profile page that lists a bunch of DBA names and phone numbers that are all related to them...including the 855 number I called. Genesis Carpet Cleaning and Zero Residue Carpet Cleaning are some of the newer names that have come up since they have been trying to copy The Real Zerorez.
